Living in Hawaii I cant really have a meal with out fresh cooked rice. This is simple recipe for anyone who wants to try. I make this way every time I cook rice.

Ingredients For basicly perfect white rice

1 clong grain rice, uncooked

2 cwater

1 tspsalt
How To Make basicly perfect white rice

1Frist in medium bowl rinse the rice a few times with cold water. Then in a saucepan with a good fitting lid bring water & salt to a boil. Add in the rice & stir.

2Next cover & reduce heat to medium low. You will know that your temperature is correct if a little steam is visible leaking from the lid. A lot of steam means your heat is too high.

3Next cook for 20 mins but dont lift the lid. The steam that is trapped inside the pan is what allows the rice to cook properly.

4Then remove from heat & fluff with fork.

5Special Tip: If you have a rice cooker/steamer. Rinise out the rice a few times. Place rice, water & salt in the cooker/steam, click the to on & let steam cook. Should take about 20 mins also. You may fluff with fork also.
