My grandmother, then my mom, then as far as I know out of four children, JUST me, but bet I can easily force my sisters to eat on them fries. (I recall stuff they don't but at times they recall stuff I don't, I am big on the food memory lane.) So its really a simple recipe but one that excited me when I recalled it that I felt I must post just in case someone else was wanting to join me and my family in this enjoyment.

How To Make the french fry treat in my family

  • 1
Once you get the potatoes cut up, I like to put them in cold water and toss in the fridge for about 30 minutes to an hour. I have actually cut up way too many potatoes and fried them next day and next day, as long as looking good.

The wet potatoes will be rolled into the cornmeal and salt mixture. Then fried in the oil or Crisco.

Once done, drain as you see fit. Then if more salt needed, salt them and eat them and wonder why it took so long for you to ever make these.
