This is a recipe that I make for my husband David that is his ultimate favorite...it was the first dinner I actually made for him that at least won over his stomach...his heart came later!

Ingredients For tator tot hotdish

  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 md
    onion
  • 3 clove
    garlic
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 Tbsp
    beef soup base
  • 2 can
    cream of celery soup
  • 2 can
    cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 pkg
    tator tots
  • 2 c
    shredded cheddar cheese

How To Make tator tot hotdish

  • 1
    Dice onion, mince garlic and add both ingredients to dutch oven. Add ground beef and brown over medium heat. After ground beef mixture is browned, drain grease.

    Add pepper, beef soup base, cream of celery and cream of chicken soup to ground beef mixture. Stir well until incorporated.

    Place 1 layer of tater tots on top of ground beef mixture to cover. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until the tator tots are crispy.

    Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese ontop of tator tots for the last 10 minutes of baking time. Cheese should be melted before serving.
