This is a side that I make when I make teriyaki chicken or teriyaki steak.

Ingredients For sweet potato tempura

  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1
    egg
  • 4 Tbsp
    sake (optional)
  • 3/4 to 1 c
    flour
  • 3 Tbsp
    cornstarch

How To Make sweet potato tempura

  • 1
    Mix together the flour and cornstarch and add to the water, sugar, salt, egg, sake, Stir till well blended.

    Slice about 4 sweet potatoes about 1/3 inch thick. dip potato slices in batter and deep fry until golden brown. (about 4-5 minutes)
