Made for my son's birthday dinner. He loves shrimp and steak, so this is the perfect side for your steak. Add a salad and theres a nice surf and turf dinner. Inspired by Giada! My favorite chef!

Ingredients For shrimped mashed potatoes

  • POTATOES
  • 2 lb
    yukon potatoes cubed and boiled in 2 garlic cloves
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/3 c
    half/half
  • 2 1/2 tsp
    chopped chives
  • 2 1/2 tsp
    fresh thyme
  • 2 1/2 tsp
    chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp
    lemon zest
  • 1/2 tsp
    each s&p
  • SHRIMP
  • 12 oz
    med cleaned shrimp about 30
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, unsalted
  • 1/4 tsp
    each s&p

How To Make shrimped mashed potatoes

    After boiling potatoes and garlic cloves. Strain put back in pot add remaining ingredients and mash by hand. Turn stove off or keep on very low and cover to keep warm while cooking shrimp.

    After peeling and deviening shrimp. Place butter in med-high nonstick skillet cook shrimp til pink about 3 min. remove with slotted spoon and place on cutting board til cool enough to cut. Cut into bite size pieces, about 1/2 inch pieces. Add to potatoes along with pan juices and stir. Transfer to serving dish.
