My uncle's wife, Shirley, won our hearts with this recipe since she married into our family in 1972. We always ask for this special dish at Christmas. I was lucky enought to "steal" the recipe a couple of years ago. We have always enjoyed this recipe.

Ingredients For shirley's sweet potato casserole

3 csweet potatoes, peeled, cooked and mashed

1 cgranulated sugar

1/4 tspsalt

1/3 stickbutter or margarine, melted

1/2 cmilk

1 Tbspbutter flavoring

1 Tbsppure vanilla extract or sherry extract

2 lgeggs, beaten
- TOPPING

1 cbrown sugar

5 Tbspself-rising flour, sifted

1/3 stickbutter or margarine, melted

1 cchopped pecans
How To Make shirley's sweet potato casserole

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 inch dish. Combine the ingredents for the casserole as listed. Spread in pan.

2Combine topping ingredients. Sprinkle over casserole. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
