My sister and I make pierogis each holiday and mine never seem to turn out. Last year, I gave up! I found this recipe and it's much easier and tastes very close to homemade pierogis!

Ingredients For pierogi casserole

  • 1 8 oz. pkg
    lasagna noodles
  • 3 md
    chopped onions
  • 1/2 lb
    butter or margerine
  • 1/2 lb
    sharp cheddar cheese(like cracker barrel aged vermont
  • 7-8
    potatoes or 1 tub of pre-made mashed potatoes

How To Make pierogi casserole

  • 1
    Cook noodles as package directs.
  • 2
    Sautee onions in the butter.
  • 3
    If using real potaoes, make as usual for mashed potatoes.
  • 4
    Chunk cheese and melt cheese into potatoes.
  • 5
    In a greased lasagna pan, layer in this order until ingredients are gone. Noodles, potatoes... Pour all onions/butter over the top.

    Bake 15-20 min. at 350.
