Ingredients For gruyere potatoes

  • 1 1/2 c
    milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 md
    baking potatoes
  • 1 tsp
    garlic, finely minced
  • 1/2 c
    gruyere cheese or swiss cheese, freshly grated

How To Make gruyere potatoes

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • 2
    Combine milk, butter, salt and pepper to taste in saucepan. Bring to a boil.

    Rinse potatoes and peel.
  • 4
    Cut into 1/8 inch slices and drop them into hot milk mixture. Add garlic. Partially cover and return to a boil.

    Simmer 15 minutes.

    Pour potatoes into a buttered 1 1/2 quart baking dish and sprinkle cheese on top.

    Bake until sauce thickens and top is golden brown.
