I was never one for stuffing/dressing growing up. I hated it! (I think it was the sage in it.) Now, I can never have enough, especially this recipe! This is a doubled recipe, can cut in 1/2 if need to. This is a delish, moist dressing recipe & I love it! YUM!

  • 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Place dry stove top stuffing in a large bowl; set aside. Meanwhile, chop up celery, onion & add to stove top bowl.
  • 4
When neck, liver, gizzards & potato are cooked, grate potato over stove top mixture bowl. Finely chop up liver & gizzards & place in stove top/celery bowl. Discard neck - used just to add flavor.
  • 5
Add 2 C cooking water & mix well. Pour into a greased baking dish. Pour chicken broth over evenly & slice butter & place on top evenly.
  • 6
Bake for 30 - 45 minutes or until a little crispy on top.

NOTE: I always thought stuffing was a northern thing & dressing was a southern thing. But I have found out that it's dressing when you cook it out of the turkey & stuffing when you stuff it in the turkey. I like it better out of the turkey myself.
