This is an old Pennsylvania Dutch recipe that my family enjoyed for years. A pleasurable way to serve potatoes.

Ingredients For dutch stewed potatoes

  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 sm
    onion, sliced
  • 2 c
    diced raw potatoes
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 pinch
    pepper
  • 1-2 tsp
    minced parsley
  • 3/4 c
    boiling water
  • 1 Tbsp
    water
  • 2 tsp
    all purpose flour

How To Make dutch stewed potatoes

  • 1
    Melt butter in a large skillet; add onion slices and cook 5 minutes.
  • 2
    Add potatoes and a mixture of the salt, pepper and parsley.
  • 3
    Pour in boiling waterand cook covered until tender, about 20 minutes.
  • 4
    Blend together the water and flour and stir into skillet. Bring to boiling and cook one to two minutes until thickened.
