I love to cook potatoes in my dutch oven and I have been playing around with ways to cook them. So I came up with this and it was a big hit.

Ingredients For dutch oven cheese potatoes

  • 1 lb
    maple smoked bacon cut up.
  • 12 md
    potatoes,peeled and sliced
  • 2 md
    red onions
  • 1 1/2 c
    mushrooms sliced your choice.
  • 1 1/2 c
    shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 can
    cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
  • 1 can
    dark beer.(i use amber bock)
  • 2 clove
    garlic,diced

How To Make dutch oven cheese potatoes

    In a 4QT cast iron dutch oven fry bacon,add onion and cook for 4-5 minutes. Add garlic,potatoes,mushrooms,cheese,soup,and beer.mix well.Cover and cook for 45-55 minutes..8 to 10 coals under and 6 to 8 coals on top...I serve over cooked wild rice.
