This Crock Pot Cheesy Hash Brown Casserole is super easy and creamy. The tater tots break down into hash brown-like potatoes and look like a casserole. Preparing this side dish requires very little work. Creamy and cheesy, it could be a breakfast casserole or a dinner side dish alongside chicken, steak, ribs, or pork chops.

    frozen tater tots
  • 1/2 lg
    onion, chopped
  • 1 c
    shredded cheddar cheese

    milk
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 can
    cream of chicken soup (10.5 oz)
  • 1 pkg
    Ragu cheddar cheese sauce (15.5 oz)

We recommend you use a Crock Pot liner for this recipe. We didn't and our edges burned slightly. The liner would help to prevent this. Stir halfway through the cooking process.
  • Layer tater tots, onions, and shredded cheese in a slow cooker.

    In a Crock Pot, put a layer of tater tots and onions. Top with cheese. Make 3 or 4 layers depending on the size of your slow cooker ending with shredded cheese on top.
  • Combine milk, seasonings, soup, and cheese sauce in a bowl.

  • Pour cheese mixture over tater tots.
