My husband doesn't like sour cream in his cheesy potatoes, so I was experimenting with different combinations to get the creamy texture without using sour cream. Mission accomplished with this great side dish!

Ingredients For crock pot cheesy potatoes & ham

2 lbfrozen, shredded hashbrowns

3 cdiced, cooked ham

1 cshredded cheddar cheese
-
8 ozcream cheese

1/2 cdiced onion (optional)

4 Tbspbutter or margarine
-
1 cmilk
-
2 tspchicken bouillon, dissolved in 3/4 cup boiling water

1 cancream of mushroom soup
-
1/2 tspminced garlic
-
pepper
How To Make crock pot cheesy potatoes & ham

1Put everything but cream cheese and butter in a crock pot. Mix well. Cut up cream cheese and butter into cubes. Dot over top of potatoes.

2Cook on High for 2 hours, stirring periodically. Reduce heat to low and cook for 2 more hours. Can also cook this in the oven at 325 for 1 1/2 hours.
