These homemade baked fries are so delicious. They have a great smoky tone and just a slight kick of "heat" from the Mesquite Seasoning. They're good served alongside your favorite burger, hot dog, sandwich, steak or just about any smoked meat.

Ingredients For baked mesquite fries

  • 1 Tbsp
    mesquite seasoning (i use mccormisk's grill mates)
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 tsp
    dried thyme leaves
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 4
    potatoes, peeled
  • DIPPING SAUCE (OPTIONAL):
  • 2 Tbsp
    ketchup
  • 3 Tbsp
    sour cream
  • 1 tsp
    mesquite seasoning

How To Make baked mesquite fries

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray.

    Slice each peeled potato in half. Cut each potato half into thin wedges no more than 1/3 inch in width.

    Place mesquite seasoning, garlic powder, thyme, salt and pepper in a plastic bag, and shake until well blended. Add potato wedges, and shake bag until potatoes are well coated.

    Place potatoes on the cookie sheet in a single layer, making sure no potatoes overlap.

    Bake 35 to 45 minutes or until golden, turning occasionally during baking.

    Mix the ketchup, sour cream and 1 tsp Mesquite Seasoning. Add to each serving as a sauce to dip the Baked Mesquite Fries.
