Ingredients For 7-layer dinner.

  • 1 lb
    bacon
  • 1 lg
    onoin,sliced
  • 4 md
    potatoes,peeled,and sliced
  • 1/3 c
    rice
  • 3
    carrots,sliced
  • 4 slice
    thick sliced ham
  • 1 can
    stewed tomatoes
  • 1 can
    beer,dark
  • 1 stick
    butter.
  • 1 lg
    bell pepper,cut into strips
  • 8oz oz
    cheddar cheese, shredded,if you like

How To Make 7-layer dinner.

    You will need a 12qt or larger cast iron dutch oven. cut bacon in 1/2. Add butter to bottom of dutch oven. Layer bacon,onion,potatoes,rice,ham,carrots,and strips of bell peppers.Do not mix.

    over all pour stewed tomatoes annd beer. Cover. Set over med-high heat. Cook for one hour. Check for doneness. For the last 15-20 min,sprinkle shredded cheese over top(If you like),cover and cook abought 15 min more.Let cool alittle befor serving.
