I always hated the powdery taste of box mac & cheese. So I made up my own quick stovetop version. Can be put in a casserole dish & browned on top if desired. Use any cheese you like. Just watch to see which ones melt the smoothest. I have omitted the Mexican Velveeta & used Kraft Colby Jack with a touch of Philidelphia cream cheese, it was really good!

Ingredients For no more box macc & cheese

4 ozmuenster cheese, shredded

5 ozmexican velveta, cubed

8 ozregular velveta, cubed

2 Tbspbutter
-
1/3 cmilk
-
16 ozmaccaroni noodles, we like ready cut style or rotini

black pepper, to taste
-
garlic salt, to taste
-
dash of hot sauce
How To Make no more box macc & cheese

1Cook noodles to package directions. Drain well.

2While thats working, in a medium sauce pan, add all other ingredients on medium heat stirring occasionally to melt. (Add more milk, if it seems too thick. you want it creamy.)

3Stir together in pasta pot, cover. allow to rest for 5-10 minutes. Stir before serving.
