I actually did this recipe for company one time when I was planning on making baked macaroni and cheese, only to discover too late that I didn't have any elbow macaroni. This came out just as good and everyone just loved it. Hope you enjoy it, too!

Ingredients For elaine's cheesy noodle bake

  • 3 c
    uncooked wide noodles
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 3 lg
    eggs
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 2 to 3 c
    shredded cheddar cheese (not finley shredded. you can use more or less to taste).

How To Make elaine's cheesy noodle bake

    Cook noodles according to package directions. When noodles are cooked, drain well. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and spray a 3 quart casserole dish with cooking spray.

    Add noodles to prepared casserole dish. Stir in butter and set aside. In a large measuring cup, add milk, eggs and salt. Whisk until well blended and pour over noodles. Add cheese and sour cream, stir until blended. Top with additional cheese, if desired.

    Bake at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes or until cheese it lightly browned and bubbly.
