I love baked Mac & Cheese, and this is the best recipe I have found, adapted from Taste of Home, Feb/Mar 2010. When I make this with my Cheesy Baked Chicken recipe, I also top this dish with any leftover crumbs.

Ingredients For baked mac & cheese

4 cuncooked macaroni
-
1/4 cbutter, cubed

1/4 cflour
-
4 cmilk
-
1 tspsalt
-
1/2 tsppepper
-
1/4 tspdry mustard
-
1 dashfreshly grated nutmeg

1/4 tspworcestershire sauce
-
2 ccheddar cheese, shredded
-
1 cvelvetta cheese, cubed
How To Make baked mac & cheese

1Cook pasta according to directions and set aside.

2In a large saucepan, melt butter, then stir in flour until smooth.

3Gradually add milk; stir in the salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and nutmeg.

4Bring to a boil; cook and stir 1-2 minutes until thickened.

5Stir in cheeses until melted; stir in drained pasta.

6Transfer to ungreased 2 qt baking dish; bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
