This recipe has been used over and over. It keeps well in the refrigerator for days, excellent served with fish or cookouts.

Ingredients For vinegar slaw

8 cshredded cabbage (1 1/2 to 2 lbs)

2 Tbspchopped pimentoes

1/2 cchopped green pepper

3/4 cchopped onion
-
1 csugar
-
1 cvinegar (i use white vinegar)

1/2 cwater

1 Tbspmustard seed
How To Make vinegar slaw

1In a large bowl, combine cabbage, pimentoes, green pepper & onion. Toss lightly; set aside. Combine remaining ingredients in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered for 20-25 min. until slightly thickened.

2Pour over cabbage mixture. Cover and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Will keep in refrigerator several days.
