Me and my daddy used to make it and to this very day we still make it. He used to make jokes. We would laugh and laugh and laugh until are tummys would hurt. Like he would say "hey lill look its a eye ball".

Ingredients For spaetzle

  • 2
    large eggs,beaten
  • 1/4 c
    milk or water
  • 1 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 dash
    of pepper
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter or stick of margarine

How To Make spaetzle

  • 1
    Mix eggs,milk,flour,salt and pepper[Batter will be thick].

    Fill 4-quart dutch oven half full with water;heat to boiling.
  • 3
    press a few tbsp of the batter at a time through colander[preferably one with large holes]into boiling water.Stir once or twice to prevent sticking.

    Cook about 5 min. or until spaetzle rise to surface and are tender;drain.Toss with butter.
