These are easy and tasty. Everyone who has ever tried them has loved them. They keep for 1 year in the refrigerator so it's worth the effort.

Ingredients For refrigerator pickle

16 cthinly sliced cucumber, washed but not peeled

2 cthinly sliced sweet onion

4 csugar

2 capple cider vinegar

1 tspcelery seed

1 tspturmeric

1/2 tsppowdered alum
How To Make refrigerator pickle

1Mix cucumbers and onion and sprinkle 3 Tbsp. of salt all over, mix with hands, and let stand for 3 hours.

2WHILE YOU WAIT mix your vinegar solution of sugar, apple cider vinegar, celery seed, turmeric, and powdered alum. Stir occasionally to dissolve sugar.

3After 3 hours, drain cucumbers/onions and pour vinegar solution over them. This makes 1 gallon or 4 quarts. Store in refrigerator (doesn't have to be sealed as when canning).

4They are ready to eat in 24 hours and will keep for 1 year. Enjoy!
