Pinto beans was one of my favorites growing up. My hubby loves to crumble cornbread in his. This was one of JAP's "this could be you" recipes that I adopted. I tweeked it quite a bit to my liking. I hope that you will give this a try. Cooking with Passion, sw :)

Ingredients For sw's pinto beans

2 cpinto beans **dried**
-
3ham hocks **fav smoked meats**

2 bottlebeer, dark
-
3 cwater
-
1 lgonion, chopped
-
1/2 cbell pepper, chopped
-
4 mdgarlic cloves, chopped
-
1 mdhabanero pepper, fresh & chopped
-
1 tspblack pepper
-
2 tspcumin powder
-
1 Tbspham base
-
sea salt to taste
-
sugar to taste
How To Make sw's pinto beans

1Soak beans for 6-8 hours. Fill 5 quart crock pot with water & beer. Add ham hocks, onion, garlic & ham base. Cover & cook on high for 2 hours. Meat should be tender

2Add beans and remaining ingredients. Cover and cook for 5 additional hours on low heat. Serve with cornbread. Yummy eats!!!
