pickled okra

This is my mom's recipe that she has been making for at least 50 years. Finally got her to write it down.

Ingredients For pickled okra

  • 1 qt
    water
  • 1 c
    vinegar
  • 1/4 c
    salt
  • 1 clove
    garlic
  • 1/4 tsp
    alum
  • 1 Tbsp
    dill or large sprig
  • 4-6 pt
    okra

How To Make pickled okra

  • 1
    Bring to a boil and pour over okra.
  • 2
    I use small okra and place dill and garlic in jars pack the jars then pour hot liquid over okra and seal
  • 3
    You can hot water bath them if you want to be sure that they seal
