Bisquick contains Trans-fats, which tend to raise LDL or the bad fat your body makes, so I thought I'd make my own from scratch using ingredients I like.

Ingredients For my bisquick substitute

8 1/2 cspelt flour

1 Tbspbaking powder

1 Tbspsea salt

2 tspcream of tartar

1 tspbaking soda

1 1/2 csoy milk powder

2 1/4 ccoconut oil (not liquid)
How To Make my bisquick substitute

1Sift the dry ingredients together and blend well. Using a pastry cutter, cut in shortening. This should resemble corn meal

2Put in an airtight container and label it so you know when you made this, it will last 10-12 weeks.

3Store in the fridge. Makes about 13 cups and can be used in place of Bisquick in any recipe.
