These are so good and so easy (two of my favourite things!) I make a quart or two every month, especially during the summer.

Ingredients For microwave bread and butter pickles

1/2 tspsalt

1/4 tspturmeric, ground

1/4 tspmustard seed

1/4 tspcelery seed

1/2 cvinegar
-
1 csugar
-
2cucumbers, unpeeled & thinly sliced

1 or 2onions, thinly sliced
How To Make microwave bread and butter pickles

1In a small bowl combine first 6 ingredients.

2Mix cucumbers & onions in a large microwave-safe bowl. Pour vinegar mixture over cucumbers & onions. Microwave, uncovered, on high power 5 minutes. Stir well, microwave another 5 minutes. Cool, then pour into a quart jar and refrigerate.

3Pickles are ready to eat in 24 hrs, when thoroughly chilled. Keep refrigerated. Will stay fresh for several weeks.
