1/2 ccornmeal

1 csugar

1 1/2 cflour

1/2 tspsalt

1 Tbspbaking powder

2 lgeggs

1/3 coil

3 Tbspmelted butter

1 1/4 cwhole milk
How To Make maddy's southern sweet cornbread

1Put first five dry ingredients in a large bowl. Mix together by hand with a whisk. Good cornbread is best mixed by hand without the use of electric kitchen instruments.

2Add remaining four wet ingredients to the bowl one at a time, while whisking until combined and the batter is smooth.

3Pour into a greased (I use vegetable oil) 8 X 10 baking pan.

4Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes until the top is slightly golden color and a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center.
