These are very similar to refried beans without the frying. Soak overnight for faster cooking. Great for Mexican night :)

Ingredients For frijoles

1 1/2 cdry pinto beans

1/2 tspsugar
-
1 tspminced garlic
-
2 Tbspfinely chopped onion

2slices smoked bacon
-
2 cwater
How To Make frijoles

1Place the beans,sugar, garlic, onions and bacon in slow cooker. Pour in water, cover and cook on high for 6 hours. Drain 2/3 liquid and discard bacon. Use a potato masher to mash beans to a chunky consistency. season with salt to taste and serve hot.
