My sister gave me this dressing recipe. My mother used to always make the dressing for the holiday meals, but my sister took over the task about 5-6 years ago. She and I used to be the official taste testers for my mom, moms was the traditional in the oven dressing, now my sister makes a huge crock pot every year and never has leftovers. A lot of times she makes another batch for the leftovers. Moms is still best, but this is great too.

How To Make fantastic crock-pot cornbread dressing.
-
1Spray crock pot with pam cooking spray to prevent sticking. Crack eggs in a seperate bowl, and beat lightly with a fork just to break the yolks and break down the whites a bit. Open all cans, set aside. The number ranges on the chicken broth because it depends on how moist you like your dressing. I love mine very moist, so I use all four cans.

2Pretty much dump all ingredients in the crock pot lightly stir just to make sure all dry ingredients are moist. Add your spices to your taste, set your crock pot on low and cook over night, when you get up in the morning turn the heat to medium and prepare the rest of your meal, by the time you are done, so is your dressing. It taste like you slaved over it all night but ya didn't. The hardest part about this reciep is trying to sleep when the house if filled with the wonderful fragrance of sage.

3If you want to shave off a little time on the cooking, saute your onions for a few minutes. Also my sister and I both cook and debone a chicken and add it to the mixture, I went out on a limb last year and put a half a can of cream of mushroom in mine, that was good too, if you like celery a half can of cream of celery would be good as well. Enjoy
