When I was growing up, my mother went to a Bible class every Monday night at White's Ferry Road in West Monroe. I was responsible for the meal that night. I always made these deviled eggs to go with whatever Mama left to heat up.

Ingredients For deviled eggs

  • 12
    hard boiled eggs
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 Tbsp
    mayonnaise
  • 1/4 tsp
    louisiana hot sauce
  • 1 tsp
    yellow mustard
  • 1 Tbsp
    dill pickle relish

How To Make deviled eggs

  • 1
    Cut eggs in half lengthwise. Remove the yolks and mash with a fork.
  • 2
    Add all other ingredients except mayonnaise.
  • 3
    Add the mayonnaise (may have to add more for desired consistency).
  • 4
    Fill the egg whites with the mixture. Sprinkle with paprika. Chill until serving time.
