I found this recipe in an old church cookbook! The directions will make you smile. They cracked me up... I am not a bean lover...but yrs ago, someone had some home made baked beans, totally from scratch and everything...that were soooooo good...I've been trying to find a recipe like it and I thought I had with this one...but it's still missing something. These are really good, don't get me wrong, my daughter loves them! So thought I'd post this recipe in hopes to make someone happy. And also maybe one of you has the recipe I'm looking for. It don't have to be a crock pot recipe...but it does need to be dried beans. And (I think) kinda similar to this one... Hope you enjoy! Thanks!

How To Make crock pot baked beans
-
1To have beans ready for Thanksgiving dinner the next day. Place rinsed beans in Crock Pot with the 5 cups of water...let soak all day. Or at least 4 hrs.
-
2In the evening around 8 pm or 2 hrs before bed time (really thats what it says...lol) DO NOT ADD SALT...but do add the rest of the ingredients (which can be combined prior to save time) to the crock pot except salt (salt will make the beans hard) Stir until well combined, cover and turn on high for 2 hrs, before you go to bed turn to low. (I turned to warm, as with my low they were still boiling hard)
-
3When you wake in the morning, add salt and more water, if needed. Stir well. Leave on low or warm until turkey is ready.
-
4I added 1/2t garlic powder to this when I added the salt.
