This has been handed down from my grandma. She was such an awesome cook. I loved to help her and learned so much from her. So very good flavor, and old fashioned goodness.

5 lb. Chicken
Ingredients For bread stuffing

3 Tbspchopped onion
-
1/4 cbutter
-
4 cdry bread crumbs ( about 7 slices)

1/4 tspsalt
-
1/4 tsppepper
-
1/2 tsppoultry seasoning
-
1/2 tspground sage
-
2-4 Tbspwater or chicken broth
How To Make bread stuffing

1Cook onion in butter.

2Combine with bread crumbs and seasonings.

3Toss with enough liquid to moisten crumbs.

4If you want to stuff the bird, do so at this time. I like to put mine in a jelly roll pan and brown the crumbs under the broiler first.

5Makes enough to stuff a 5 lb. chicken. For a 10 lb turkey, you will need to double the recipe.
