Ingredients For bread & butter pickles

16 cunpeeled, regular cucumbers sliced thin

6 mdonions sliced thin

1 lgred pepper seeded and slivered
-
1 lggreen pepper, seeded and sliverd...this time i opted for 3 jalapeno peppers

1/2 ccoarse pickling salt
-
5 csugar
-
2 Tbspmustard seed
-
1 tspturmeric
-
1 1/2 tspcelery seed

3 cwhite vinegar
How To Make bread & butter pickles

1Place sliced cucumbers, onions and peppers in a large non metal bowl. Sprinkle the salt over top and mix. Cover and leave on your counter for 3 hours. After 3 hours drain well. Mix together the last 5 ingredients in a large pot. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved. Add all the cuke mixture and bring to a boil. Ladle into hot sterilized jars filling to within 1 inch of top. pour the syrup from pot over the pickles.Seal
