This is from my friend Ann who is a wonderful cook. She has used this recipe for years.

Ingredients For ann's (walt's) pickles

4 cwhite sugar

2 cwhite vinegar

2 tsppickling salt or kosher salt

1 tspturmeric
-
1 tspcelery seed
-
1 tspmustard seed

4cucumbers, sliced
-
4onions, sliced
How To Make ann's (walt's) pickles

1Boil all brine ingredients together and then cool.

2Pour over sliced cucumbers and onions

3Put in fridge for 4 days - stir every day with wooden spoon. Makes enough for a 3.79 liter bucket with lid.
