My great grandmother used to serve onions and apples with pork quite often. This is as close as I could get to hers, but she usually used an iron skillet.

Ingredients For fried apples and onions

2 lgonions, sliced

2 Tbspbutter, melted

6 lgcooking apples, unpeeled and sliced

1/2 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

1 tspsalt

1/2 tsppaprika
-
1/8 tspground nutmeg
How To Make fried apples and onions

1Saute the onions in melted butter in a large saucepan over medium heat until tender.

2Place the apple slices on top of the onions. Combine the brown sugar and the remaining ingredients. Sprinkle over the apple slices. Cover and simmer for 12 to 14 minutes.

3Uncover and simmer an additional 5 minutes or until the apple slices are tender. Serve with a slotted spoon.
