2 lbs prawns, cleaned and deveined
3 Tbsps vegetable oil
1 medium onion quartered
1 bay leaf
1 Tbsp grated fresh ginger
2” long cinnamon stick
3-4 cardamoms
1 small tomato, chopped finely
2 Tbsps sourcream or yogurt
¾ can coconut milk
1 tsp chilli powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
Salt and sugar to taste
