Another trip down memory lane for me. I grew up on this stuff! I especially love it on toast, and it has to be cut diagonally or it just doesn't taste right! And if you can't have toast, the next best thing is white bread.

Ingredients For good ol' hoosier ham salad

  • 3 c
    finely ground cooked ham
  • 2 Tbsp
    celery, finely chopped
  • 2 or 3 md
    eggs, hard boiled, chopped
  • 4 tsp
    sweet pickle relish
  • 2 tsp
    finely chopped onion or 1 tbsp. minced onion
  • 1 c
    hellman's mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp
    yellow mustard

How To Make good ol' hoosier ham salad

  • 1
    Chop the ham in a food processor until it is the consistency you like. I prefer it very finely ground.

    Mix the ham, celery, eggs, onion and pickle relish in a large bowl.

    In a separate bowl, combine mayonnaise and mustard; then add to ham mixture. Stir to mix and refrigerate at least one hour.

    This is good on sandwiches, crackers, or as a dip for vegetables such as carrot sticks or anything else you like.
