Got this recipe from any older lady at our church. She was a really good cook.

Ingredients For carmel icing

1 cbrown sugar, firmly packed
-
1 stickbutter (if you use margarine icing will be softer)

1/4 cmilk, 2% (i measure out the milk and allow it to set while measuring and cooking )

2 cpowdered sugar,sifted

1 tspvanilla extract
How To Make carmel icing

1melt butter then add brown sugar
-
2Cook over medium heat,stirring

3bring to boil and allow to boil 2 minutes
-
4add milk and bring back to boil

5Add powdered sugasr, mixing well and then add vanilla
-
6take off heat and allow to cool about a minute
-
7Icing cake quickly as icing will start to harden fast.
