Ingredients For turkey brine

  • 4 c
    apple cider
  • 2 gal
    cold water
  • 4 Tbsp
    each fresh rosemary, sage and thyme leaves
  • 8 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1 1/2 c
    kosher salt
  • 2 c
    brown sugar
  • 4 Tbsp
    black peppercorns
  • 6
    bay leaves
  • peel of four large oranges

How To Make turkey brine

  • 1
    Combine the brine ingredients together in a large pot. Heat on stove until sugar and salt are dissolved. Let cool.
  • 2
    Pour the brine over the turkey and refrigerate and let brine for 24 hours.
  • 3
    Remove turkey from brine and discard the brine. Rinse turkey in sink and roast.
