We love tacos! but personally we prefer to add more seasoning then the store bought kit offers so I used to buy that big container of the seasoning, we are trying to cut our salt intake so I had tossed it and forgot. I went to the cupboard to make some tacos last night only to realize I had just the shells what to do what to do..Make your own that's what you do! cheaper better and tailored to your own liking.

Ingredients For taco seasoning

  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp
crushed red pepper flakes or 1/8 tsp of cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp
    paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    cumin ground
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    black pepper fresh ground
  • 1 tsp
    cornstarch or 2 tsp flour
  • 1 tsp
    beef bouillon

How To Make taco seasoning

  • 1
mix all ingredients: use 3 tablespoons per 1 pound of meat. ( I only use turkey).
  • 2
while browning the meat use some of the bullion, I use better then bullion paste careful the salt content is high I used less salt in the dry mix then most so if you love salt add more.
  • 3
after the meat is browned add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of water.
  • 4
I suggest you make double or triple the amount and save it. it is so much better then those packets and way less sodium. I was also lucky I had all organic spices on hand.
