Ingredients For homemade old bay seasoning

  • 8 lg
    bay leaves, ground
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    mixed peppercorns, ground
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    himalayan sea salt, ground
  • 1 tsp
    celery seed, ground
  • 1/4 tsp
    red pepper flakes, ground
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    dry mustard
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp
    smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp
    ground cardamom
  • 1/8 tsp
    ground mace
  • 1/8 tsp
    ground cloves
  • 1/8 tsp
    ground allspice

How To Make homemade old bay seasoning

  • 1
    Grind separately bay leaves, mixed peppercorns, sea salt, celery seed and red pepper flakes. Return all of them together back to the spice grinder and grind again.

    Transfer them to a small bowl. Add the remaining ingredients; whisk until well mixed.

    Transfer the blend to an airtight container and store in a cool, dark area. Yields 1/4 cup
