This is a spaghetti sauce I've come up with by combing several recipes. This makes a lot of sauce. I serve it over spaghetti and with meatballs. The meatball recipe is also on this website.

Ingredients For spaghetti sauce

  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1 lb
    ground sage sausage (i use jimmy dean)
  • 2 tsp
    dried minced garlic
  • 2 tsp
    dried onion
  • 2 can
    petite diced tomatoes (14 oz each)
  • 2 can
    tomato sauce (14 oz each)
  • 1 can
    tomato paste (small can)
  • 3 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    kosher salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    dried oregano
  • 1 Tbsp
    dried basil
  • 2 Tbsp
    dried parsley
  • 1 pkg
    zesty spaghetti seasoning (i use mccormick's)
  • 2 can
    water (use a tomato sauce can)

How To Make spaghetti sauce

  • 1
    Brown meat with garlic and onion seasonings. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and water. Stir together. Add sugar and remaining seasonings. Stir together. Bring sauce to a boil and then reduce heat to a simmer. Simmer for at least 4 hours, stirring occasionally. If sauce gets too thick, add additional water or tomato sauce.
