fresh asian plum sauce
There is this great Chinese restaurant that serves the best plum sauce and I could never find a packaged plum sauce that even came close. Once I made this one I found out why. It is made by scratch. This sauce is almost identical to the plum sauce at China Fair. Yum

Ingredients For fresh asian plum sauce

3 cbrown sugar

2 csugar
-
1 1/2 capple cider vinegar

1 cfinely chopped onion

4 Tbspfinely chopped sweet chili pepper

2 Tbspmustard seed

1 Tbspsalt

4 clovegarlic minced

2 Tbspfresh ginger minced

10 cfresh pitted chopped plums
How To Make fresh asian plum sauce

1Mix all ingredients together in large pan. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer and simmer 2 hours.

2Strain through a fine mesh strainer pressing pulp to get our as much juice as possible.

3Ladle into jars and process in water bath for 20 minutes. If not canning store in fridge.

4Makes about 4 pint jars
