This recipe is for all you PRIME RIB and BONE-IN RIBEYE steak lovers. I got this recipe from Dee Drummond and all I can say is WOW incredibly delicious sauce! I made this sauce Christmas 2012 and poured it over bone-in ribeye steaks. The onions and whiskey makes such flavorful combinations.

Ingredients For whiskey cream sauce

  • 12 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 1/2 c
    diced onions
  • 1 1/2 c
    whiskey
  • 1 1/2 c
    beef stock or broth
  • dash
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1 1/2 c
    heavy cream

How To Make whiskey cream sauce

  • 1
Cook the onions in 9 tablespoons butter in a skillet over medium heat for a few minutes. When the onions are brown, turn off the burner temporarily so you won't ignite your kitchen.
  • 2
Pour in the whiskey. As soon as it evaporates, turn the burner on medium-high heat and pour in the beef stock. Add salt and pepper, then allow the mixture to bubble and reduce by half.
  • 3
Whisk in the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter, then reduce the heat to low. Whisk in 1 1/2 cups cream. Allow the sauce to simmer and thicken about 20 minutes or to your preference. Serve with beef, baby!
