This is my version of the old fashioned extra to serve over lots of things on the thanksgiving table or for anytime meal.

Ingredients For old fashioned turkey hash

2 tbsbutter

1smallonion, finely chopped

3 tbsall purpose flour

2 cupswhole milk

1/2 tspsalt and pepper

pinchground nutmeg

8 ouncescooked turkey cut into small pieces (2 cups)

2 tbsfresh parsley chopped
How To Make old fashioned turkey hash

1In 3 quart saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and cook, stirring, until soft, about 4-5 minutes. Stir in flour and cook stirring constant 1 minute. With a wire wisk, gradually whisk in milk, salt and pepper, and nutmeg. Heat to a boil over med-high heat, whisking. Reduce heat and simmer whisking here an there 5 minutes

2Stir turkey into sauce and heat through, stir in parsley and serve (over noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes)
