never fail country gravy

When my daughters were learning to cook, they had trouble making gravy. So, I came up with a sure-fire way that couldn't fail. They've been making it this way ever since. Hope this helps some of the inexperienced cooks out there, just starting out.

Ingredients For never fail country gravy

  • 2 Tbsp
    bacon drippings
  • 1/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 c
    milk
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt

How To Make never fail country gravy

  • 1
    Heat the bacon drippings in hot skillet, on medium heat.
  • 2
    In a pint jar, combine flour, salt and pepper.
  • 3
    Add cold milk or half & half to flour mixture in the jar. Pour contents in to skillet, whisking till gravy thickens to desired consistency.
