Ingredients For mom's traditional enchilada sauce

1/4 cred chili powder

1 Tbspground cumin

1/2 Tbspgarlic powder

1/2 tspsalt

2 pinchground black pepper

4 Tbspvegetable oil

1/4 call purpose flour
How To Make mom's traditional enchilada sauce

1In a low heat setting place sauce pan on burner. Add oil, chili powder, cumin, and garlic to pan and cook for 3 minutes. This will release the spice flavors.

2Add 1 1/2 cups of water to the pan and stir.

3Boil for 5 minutes.

4Lower heat and simmer. While simmering, make a rue with flour and water. Add Rue to desired sauce thickness. Simmer for an additional 7 minutes.

5Remove from heat and pour over your prepared enchiladas.
