Once taste of this zesty French onion dip will make you never want to buy the premade stuff again. Caramelizing the onions gives them a nice flavor and brings out their sweetness. Mixed with tangy sour cream, it's a delicious dip. It does take a little time to caramelize the onions but be patient. The final product is well worth the effort. 2 pinchsalt, divided

3 mdyellow onions, diced

1 pinchsugar

16 ozsour cream

1 tsponion powder

1 pinchblack pepper

green onion, optional garnish
How To Make best ever french onion dip

1In a large skillet, over medium heat, melt the butter.

2Once the butter is melted, add the diced onions and a pinch of salt. Stir often.

3After 15 minutes, add the sugar stirring often.

4Cook until the onions are caramelized and are a nice golden brown color. Let cool.

5Add the caramelized onions, sour cream, salt, pepper, and onion powder to a mixing bowl.

6Combine thoroughly.

7Garnish with green onions when serving if you wish.
