This is a salsa recipe that has bits of summer melons for a fruity touch. Prep time doesn't include chilling time as that can vary greatly.

Ingredients For texas summer salsa

  • 1/2 sm
    honeydew melon, seeded
  • 1/2 sm
    cantaloupe, seeded
  • 1/3 lg
    jalapeño pepper, seeded and diced
  • 1/4 c
    fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh lime juice
  • 15 oz
    jar salsa
  • 1 lg
    bag totrtilla chips (scoops work well)

How To Make texas summer salsa

  • 1
    Finely chop the honeydew and cantaloupe. Place chopped fruit in a colander for 30 minutes to allow all excess liquid to drain.

    Add the chopped jalapeño and cilantro to the fruit, and stir until well combined.

    Mix salsa and lime juice together in a bowl. Add the fresh fruit mixture, and mix well with wooden spoon. Transfer to festive serving bowl if desired, and chill until ready to serve.

    When ready to serve, place salsa bowl in center of a large serving platter, and arrange tortilla chips around the salsa bowl.
