Great appetizer for the summer. Easy to make and very good. Makes a good amount and is easy enough to double up if you want. This can be used as a salsa or salad both.

Ingredients For texas caviar

1 - 14 ozcan black beans, drained

1 - 14 ozcan black - eyed peas, drained

1 - 15.5 ozcan hominy, drained

2 mdtomatoes, chopped
-
4green onions, chopped
-
1/2 conion, chopped
-
1 mdgreen pepper, chopped
-
1hot pepper, chopped
-
1/2 cfresh parsley, chopped ( i use cilantro instead)

2 clovegarlic, minced ( i use more garlic because i like garlic)

5 - 10 dashtabasco sauce
-
1 - 8 ozpkg. good seasons italian dressing (make according to package directions).
How To Make texas caviar

1Mix all ingredients in large bowl. Chill at least 1 hour to blend favors. Serve as a salad or as a dip with tortilla chips.

2I always make this the day before so it can chill over night. Than stir and serve. The cilantro really gives it a good flavor and you can use 1/2C or more or less and the same with the garlic. I use more garlic because I really love garlic. So just tweak it to your own liking.
