This is an easy and simple way to make your own salsa. This recipe makes enough to serve several people. Salsa is easy and you can always modify this recipe to make is as hot as you want or mild as you want. You can substitute garlic cloves with powder as well as the onions if you prefer. I suggest using the same size can of Rotel as you do the petite diced tomatoes... Good stuff : )

Ingredients For simple salsa

  • 2 can
    petite diced tomatoes (drained)
  • 1 can
    rotel (mild or hot or original, which ever you prefer))
  • 1 sm
    onion, chopped
  • 1/2
    green pepper
  • 3 dash
    (capfuls) white vinegar
  • 1 sm
    can of tomato paste
  • dash
    salt and pepper to taste
  • dash
    lime juice, to taste (optional)
  • 1 bunch
    cilantro, finely chopped
  • 2 clove
    garlic, pressed and finely chopped
  • 1
    jalapeno or habanero, finely chopped

How To Make simple salsa

  • 1
    In mixing bowl add diced tomatoes and Rotel. Add salt and pepper to taste preference. Add chopped onion, pepper, garlic cloves and cilantro. Add jalapeno or habanero if preferred.

    Stir in tomato paste. Add vinegar. Mix thoroughly.

    Serve with your favorite tortilla chips or as a side to any mexican dish. You can go ahead and serve it or let it marinate for a little while in the fridge before serving.
